People of Lumia

Who is building the world's smallest wearable device? Lumia Health is. Explore our talented team of experts and advisors racing to build the Lumia wearable device. Founded in Boston by co-founders Daniel Ewok Lee and Paul Jin, Lumia Health (formerly known as STAT Health Informatics) designs and makes the world's smallest wearable technology. More than a simple heart rate monitor, Lumia tracks changes in blood flow to your head for people with Orthostatic Intolerance, POTS, Autonomic Dysfunction and more.
  • Daniel Ewok Lee, Co-Founder & CEO

With deep expertise in engineering ultra miniature in-ear health wearables, Daniel also brings real passion to help people with Orthostatic Intolerance. Having seen the way our complex, invisible illnesses are understood and managed, he knew there had to be a better way. Previously, Daniel invented Hush, the ear device that became Bose Sleepbuds.

  • Paul Jin, Co-Founder & COO

With a talent for navigating the challenges of new solutions development, Paul led medical ultrasound systems at Philips Healthcare for 10 years, and later co-led Health Product Innovation at Bose side-by-side with Daniel. Now, he holds the calm at the center of the storm for Lumia Health as we make the world's smallest wearable device a reality.

We've assembled a Patient Advisory Council, each member affected by orthostatic conditions and complex comorbidities: Dysautonomia, POTS, Long COVID, ME/CFS, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Autoimmune Disease, Small Fiber Neuropathy, and more.

They help us navigate business and product decisions to help ensure we prioritize the features that are most helpful to the most people!

Our Mission

Millions of people live with debilitating symptoms of Orthostatic Intolerance from POTS, Dysautonomia, Long Covid, ME/CFS and other invisible illnesses. Yet, the core problem -- a drop in blood flow to your head -- has never been well understood or the focus of symptoms management.

Heart rate or blood pressure often do not correlate with symptoms because they are indirect secondary metrics that frequently mislead.

Despite experiencing symptoms, many people may not always have large heart rate or blood pressure changes, and people around them might even start wondering if it's "all in their head."

It's time to start tracking what matters most.

At Lumia Health -- formerly known as STAT Health -- it’s our mission to educate and empower you with stunning new insight into the very heart of the problem -- in your head.

Our first step? Building you a tiny in-ear wellness device to help you better self-manage symptoms associated with drops in blood flow to your head, like dizziness, lightheadedness, headaches, intense fatigue, brain fog, and more.

The future vision is to become an FDA-approved medical device, and collaborate with medical experts to bring new options for diagnostics and treatment.
