Switching from Lumia 1 to Lumia 2
If you're switching from a Lumia 1 to a Lumia 2, you'll need to unpair your old device before connecting the new one. You can only have one device associated with your account at a time. This helps to keep your account, data, and notifications from getting tangled between two devices.
Step-by-step: Unpairing your Lumia 1
- Open the Lumia app on your phone
- Tap the settings icon then select Device & Configurations
- Find your device and select unpair to release the device from your account
- You’ll be brought to a screen where you choose your generation of Lumia
- Select Lumia 2 and grab the Lumia Core from your box
- Pull the activation sticker from the core to turn the device on
- Once turned on the app will search for your Lumia 2
- Select your Lumia 2 to officially pair it
- Based on your style, follow the instructions to ensure proper fit and signal quality
What happens to your data?
Your data will be kept without any loss once you upgrade to Lumia 2 as long as you use the same email address associated with your Lumia 1 account. However, due to new features that come with Lumia 2, such as Forecast, you will need to complete the calibration phase in order to unlock those.
Troubleshooting
Common setup issues and how to resolve them:
My Lumia 2 won't pair
- If you have a Lumia 1 device, make sure that is disconnected from your account before attempting to pair your Lumia 2. To do so, go to Settings > Device & Configurations in the Lumia app. If your Lumia 1 device is paired, you’ll see a button to unpair it. Tap that and you’ll be set to pair your Lumia 2.
- Make sure your phone’s bluetooth is turned on and select “Lumia 2” when choosing the device you are setting up when prompted.
- If your Lumia 2 is not pairing, try swapping the battery with the extra one included in your box. Or charge your battery in the Charging Dock provided to ensure the battery is charged enough to power on your Lumia 2.
My old Lumia 1 still shows as connected
- Make sure you unpair your Lumia 1 device from your account before pairing your Lumia 2. Make sure you’re logged into the app go to Settings > Device & Configurations and then select “unpair” where your Lumia 1 appears.
What if my battery will not charge?
Work through these in order:
- Check the battery is placed in the dock correctly
- Check the dock is powered. An orange light means charging and a white light means charged. It may take a couple of hours for a fully charged battery. If the light is red, there may be an issue with your battery. Please reach out to support if that happens so we can get you a replacement.
- Try putting your other battery in the Charging Dock. If the second battery charges normally, the first battery may have an issue. Reach out the our support team if that happens.
- Try a different USB-C cable and power source.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I switch back to my Lumia 1 device once I upgrade?
Once you switch to Lumia 2 you will no longer be able to use your Lumia 1 device. As we move to new biometrics and features that you can monitor with Lumia 2, that data will not be able to revert to a Lumia 1 device. If you have any issues here please contact our support team support@lumiahealth.com.
Will I lose my data when I switch devices?
None of your data will be lost when switching from Lumia 1 to Lumia 2. As soon as you are set-up on the new device, you’ll see your data continue to appear alongside your previous data. Note that some features, like Forecast, will still require you to complete the calibration period before fully unlocking.
What should I do with my old Lumia 1?
When it's time to retire your Lumia 1, please don't toss it in the trash. Like most wearable tech, it contains a battery and electronic components that need proper e-waste handling. Check with your local e-waste recycling program, or look for drop-off locations near you at Call2Recycle or Earth911.
What if my phone can’t find my device?
Make sure your phone's bluetooth is turned on. It may take a few moments for your phone to find the Lumia 2 after pulling the tab to turn it on. If you still don’t see it after some time try swapping the battery on your Lumia 2 Core with the extra battery provided in your box. Or put your battery in the Charging Dock to ensure it has enough battery to power your Lumia 2 device.
What if my Lumia will not turn on, even after charging?
Try the spare battery first. If your Lumia powers on with one battery but not the other, the battery is at fault. If neither battery is working, please reach out to our support and we can check if there's an issue with your Lumia Core.
What if the app says my Lumia is disconnected?
Follow these steps in order:
- Make sure your phone's Bluetooth is on and is within range.
- Check your Lumia has charge.
- Close and reopen the Lumia app.
- Delete the device from bluetooth. Unpair the device and re-pair through the Lumia app.
